*Valvoline Global Operations Headquarters is located in Lexington, KY. We prefer local candidates willing to work an in-office work schedule (3 days per week ) . We are open to candidates working in a remote capacity, but willing to visit HQs as needed, if located in nearby markets.

How You’ll Make an Impact
The Senior Tax Accountant role requires significant experience with corporate income tax compliance processes and practices; significant corporate tax subject matter expertise (federal, state, local, transaction); some experience with ERP and tax software platforms as well as experience with income tax accounting. This position is an experienced tax compliance professional with tax accounting experience and the expectation is that the incumbent will be able to prepare and file tax returns and perform income tax accounting computations using available platforms with minimal supervision. The role will also support Director of Tax in representing Valvoline Global Operations in all tax controversy matters, including management reporting of audit implications.
In the role, you would be responsible for:
Leads and/or supports representation of Valvoline Global Operations in various tax controversy matters (income and transaction taxes) including management reporting of global audit implications to VGO. Supports tax controversy / tax audit defense / tax authority inquiries. Completes tax financial reporting packages in fulfillment of Aramco reporting requirements under IFRS and VGO reporting requirements under US GAAP.
Supports Director - Tax in other projects as needed. Examples - tax planning opportunities, implications of tax law changes, provision process support.
Teaming with global colleagues to ensure productivity, workflow management, and review.
Prepares, reviews, and processes federal, state and local income tax returns and tax provisions, including supporting workpapers, analysis, internal controls, retention policies.
Prepares, reviews, and processes federal, state and local income estimated payment calculations and returns.
Tax incentives and tax credits monetization (including R&D credits, WOTC credits, and other similar credits) partnering with internal and external teams. Misc. tax planning and modeling. Includes S4 implementation.
What You’ll Need
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education (“ECEE”)
Minimum 3-5 years experience in income and/or transaction taxes
Must possess core level of accounting theory and be able to understand financial data with strong computer skills
Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products (Word, Power Point, Outlook)
Experience with tax software
Experience with ERP systems (i.e. SAP, JD Edwards, etc.)
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
